Travel experiences prior to enrollment in NNU do not count towards the four points required to meet the General Education requirement.  However, as students complete reflective papers for cross cultural experiences during their time at NNU, even though the hours will not count, they are encouraged to include reflections on all cros cultural interactions they may have had.

I am an international student who grew up in another country. Does that meet the cross cultural experience?
If you lived outside the US in a non-English speaking country for at least a year after the age of 7 then you are not required to take a trip or a cross culturally approved course that includes "contact time", but you are required to take the Intercultural Lab (available online) and write a 10-page reflective paper on your experience with other cultures. You may choose to write about the US as the "foreign" culture.
